    Thanks Sam. One thing we learnt at Bloem was whatever the the advantages of the Sarama, never wear it while changing a light bulb.

    Nisantha is 100% correct.
    Not only that, it is worn by men & women in Malaysia, Indonesia & so on.
    My mother always wore sarong at home & wore Saree when needed.
    It was supposed to have been started by Indian traders centuries ago . In India it is known as Lunghi.
    I am writing this while wearing a sarong/ lunghi and enjoying a glass of Chivas Regal.
